Here's how to make sure your suit stays stretchy, comfy, and, most importantly, not smelly, for as long as possible.

Rinsing is Key
First thing’s first, always rinse your wetsuit with fresh water after every session. Saltwater and sand are like kryptonite to neoprene, breaking it down over time. A good rinse inside and out does wonders.
Hang it Right
When you're drying your suit, avoid direct sunlight. UV rays can age your wetsuit faster than you can say “surf’s up.” Instead, hang it in the shade or indoors. And here’s a pro tip: use a wide hanger to prevent creases and keep the shape of the suit nice and intact.
Temperature Matters
Hot water is a no-go. Stick to cold or lukewarm water for rinsing. High temps can mess with the neoprene, making your suit less flexible. And trust me, a stiff wetsuit is no friend when you’re trying to pop up on a wave.
Keep it Clean
Every now and then, your suit might need more than just a rinse, especially if it starts to pick up a funky smell. Use a mild wetsuit cleaner or baby shampoo and gently wash it by hand. Avoid anything harsh like bleach or laundry detergents; they can damage the suit.
Storage is Everything
When you’re not catching waves, store your suit properly. Lay it flat or hang it on a wide hanger. Avoid folding it if you can, as this can create creases and weaken the neoprene over time. And make sure it’s fully dry before you stash it away to avoid any mold or mildew.
Repairs on the Go
Got a tear? Don’t panic. Small nicks and tears can be fixed with a bit of wetsuit glue. Just make sure the area is clean and dry before you apply. It’s a quick fix that can extend the life of your suit.
Zipper Care
Don’t forget about the zipper. A stuck or broken zipper can be a real hassle. Rinse it well to keep salt and sand out, and every so often, use a zipper lubricant to keep it sliding smoothly.
Wrapping It All Up
Taking care of your wetsuit isn’t rocket science, but it does take a little bit of effort. Remember, a well-cared-for wetsuit not only lasts longer but also performs better in the water. So, rinse it, hang it, and treat it with a little TLC. Your future self (and your wallet) will thank you.
Now, what are you waiting for?
Get out there, catch some waves, and when you’re done, give that wetsuit the love it deserves. See you in the lineup!
Team MEGA.
