About Us
Mega Surf was created by surfers, for surfers and the friendly staff have extensive knowledge on all the brands and products that are stocked in store – so come in, have a yarn, and meet the crew.
Proudly owned and operated by a couple of local surf legends, Mega Surf came to life over 10 years ago but the OG store, formerly known as Rebel Surf Menswear originated in 1986 after one of those said legends, Richard Langdon followed his surf and clothing passion at a young age. Rebel Surf Menswear quickly became the most talked about store in Whangarei, it then later transitioned to Rebel Surf, situated in a hot spot in the middle of Whangarei.
Nearly 40 years on, Mega Surf is renowned to be one of the raddest surf shops in the country, stocking quality brands from all around the globe.

Richard "Langy"
Langy has been around long enough to know what’s best. Suggestions are welcome but generally overruled.
Only surfs in Maldives but sometimes takes his board to Bali ‘just in case’
His main duties include, but are not limited to, organising the coat hangers, printing shit and asking why the printers not working.
His mug collection says it all, the man’s a legend.

Sacha
With a long history at Megasurf, Sacha is dedicated to the cause but is still trying to figure out what the cause is.
Buyer for men’s and women’s fashion, so if you can’t find anything you want to wear, she’s responsible.
Usually seen wearing her fave.. Rhythm or Rusty and is unrecognisable if not sporting a bun.
Happiest near the ocean with good company and good food.

Stevo
Dedicating over 17 years of his life to Megasurf, Stevo’s been around since long boardshorts were cool.
Fashion has gone full circle so he can start wearing them again.
His passion and knowledge of surfing is unmatched and Stevo is always up for a good yarn about anything ocean, whether it be surfing, spear fishing or diving.
Stevo is a loyal Pataua surf bastard and the backbone of Megasurf.

Holly
Holly is coming up 3 years with Mega and is responsible for making Mega look its best.
Her fave brands include Rhythm and Federation and she makes any hat look good.
Holly is the water to Stevo and Sacha’s fire, and brings balance and beauty to the team, just don’t ever ask to see her Ripcurl tattoo!

Northland is well known for its superb surf spots, stunning coastlines, and it’s relaxed, laid-back lifestyle. The area has plenty to offer whether you’re in or out of the water and whatever gear you need – we got it.
